Happy Halloween!

Image
Dear Families, Rooms 1 and 2 have been busy in October!   We have been learning about pumpkins, and have created our first mural after reading 5 Little Pumpkins.   The students studied the book, and the video for the song, created a list of elements they needed, and set to work to put together our first big art project. We have also been using the skills we learned in September in regards to drawing faces, to turn pumpkins into Jack O’Lanterns. Dress up and Halloween safety have also been part of our learning.   Letting students create their own costumes from our dress up box has enhanced their imaginary play this month.

Having Fun Isn't Hard When You've Got Your Library Card!

Dear Families, We have been practicing taking books out of the library and our students are ready to bring them home! Your Kindergarten student will be bringing their library books home every Monday for you to read and enjoy together.  It is their responsibility to return the library book to our classroom, no later than the following Monday or they will be unable to take out a new book for the following week. Please note that these books are property of our school. We ask students not to eat or drink while reading their library books, and have talked a lot about how to properly carry and handle a book. If your student’s library book goes missing, several reminders will be sent home before you are asked to replace the book. Happy reading!

Snow Season

Holy smokes, we got some snow! It's very important to send your child to school with the proper snow gear (snow pants, boots, hat, mittens, jacket). We go outside everyday unless it is -20 or colder. Please LABEL  all snow gear, we have a lot of similar clothing and our Kindergartens do not always remember which clothing belongs to them. Fewer items go missing if names are on everything!
